Test Engineer (Mid Level)

Tygart Technology is seeking a highly motivated Test Engineer (Mid-Level) to join our team supporting a DOJ component. The successful candidate will contribute to system testing and evaluation efforts for complex software and hardware systems. This role is fully remote and requires a current Secret Security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies to improve testing efficiency.
  • Design, implement, and conduct comprehensive test and evaluation procedures to validate that system requirements are met.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and test architectures for application products. 
  • Write, implement, and report on system test cases; analyze test results and provide regular progress updates.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in testing methodologies and tools, supporting complex user requirements.
  • Participate in and direct risk management assessments and software/hardware development phases, focusing on testing needs.
  • Design, plan, and execute testing events and provide detailed System of Systems (SOS) test reports.
  • Review government test plans and reports to ensure compliance and technical soundness.
  • Observe and evaluate customer acceptance testing activities.
  • Support software integration efforts for developed applications.
  • Identify and document issues; perform root cause analysis and propose corrective actions.
  • Analyze testing requirements and assist with scheduling of test resources in non-operational environments.
  • Support Customer's security certification testing of SOS systems and components.
  • Prepare and deliver formal test results, briefings, and decision support materials.
  • Utilize Customer's software configuration management tools to integrate developed code into builds for testing and deployment.
  • Manage multiple software and hardware test baselines and maintain strict version control.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in software/hardware testing.
  • Current Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Experience in test automation, test case development, integration, and system validation.
  • Strong understanding of test tools, methodologies, and best practices in federal environments.
  • Experience with configuration management tools and build processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
