Tygart Technology is seeking a
System Administrator with an active Secret clearance to support a DOJ component. The ideal candidate be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining systems that drive key business processes in the cloud (AWS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, to support business processing requirements.
- Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages, ensuring proper functionality.
- Monitor and tune system performance to achieve optimal levels, ensuring applications are always running smoothly.
- Ensure workstation/server data integrity by implementing and managing software solutions that safeguard data.
- Manage data and media recoverability by scheduling and performing regular system backups and database archive operations.
- Develop and promote standard operating procedures for system maintenance, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
- Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Manage cloud-based applications using AWS services (EC2, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB) to ensure scalability, performance, and security.
- Provide ongoing system maintenance and support, including incident response and the implementation of patches and updates to maintain system integrity and security.
- Support development workflows and version control by utilizing Atlassian tools like Bitbucket and Jira to ensure effective software deployment and project tracking.
- Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe.
- Provide team specific training as needed.
Qualifications:
- An active Secret Security Clearance (required)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in system administration
- Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe.
- Strong ability to work under pressure with excellent oral and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
