Tygart is currently seeking a Sr. Network Engineer(VOIP) to support telecommunications initiatives for a DoJ customer. The ideal candidate will have practical experience planning, installing, and supporting voice-over-IP (VOIP) solutions. This position requires that the candidate have a current Top Secret security clearance Responsibilities include:
Engineers, implements, and maintains network topologies to support complex communication solutions, and maintains network connectivity to support seamless telecommunications solutions
Provides expert level Tier 3/4 troubleshooting on network components of VOIP and telephony systems and associated equipment
Proactively addresses operations, performance, and security issues
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Seven (7) or more years of experience on VOIP projects.
Experience providing services such as network design, network installation, systems engineering, hardware integration, systems architecture, hardware design/build and system modeling.
Experience providing circuit, network and firewall readiness expertise to include requirements gathering, delivery and staging support.
Experience providing data gathering, station and trunk programing support, user training, resource management, and site scheduling/rescheduling support.
Experience providing technical engineering assistance to all phases of network development, operation and management.
Experience monitoring network topologies; developing and evaluating alternative utilization or configuration options.
Experience conducting network performance and trend analysis to include individual circuit availability rates.
Experience developing processes and programs to enhance network performance and reliability.
Experience providing functional guidance, supervision, technical support, training and quality assurance/quality control to team members.
Experience providing Tier 3 O&M services.
Avaya Certification is highly desirable
Must be able to well under pressure, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent organizational skills.
