Research Analyst

Tygart is currently seeking Research Analysts to support a DOJ component. The candidate will be part of a team, collaborating closely with the government staff, to defeat national security and criminal threats. The ideal candidate will have experience researching, analyzing, and providing written information summaries. This position requires that the candidate have a current Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities include:  
  • Access, search and review agency computer systems to locate records identified to the subject.
  • Perform research on a subject based on required personally identifiable (PII) information to determine if additional records exist for the subject in a variety of media
  • Identify associates to the subject posing a national security threat.
  • Communicate verbally and through written correspondence with various agency divisions to aid in the research and verification of records.
  • Report information to the requesting agencies by developing written summaries and reports and/or closing cases where the information does not meet the reporting threshold.
  • Redact information from reports as required by applicable laws, policies, regulations and court orders provided in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage, review, and maintain queue processing based on system set priority then first in first out (oldest to newest) to ensure status is known.
  • Conduct a quality review of written documents generated by others.
  • Maintain all records and logs of searches, process, and judgment writing detailed notes to explain reason for research results.
  • Conduct various administrative tasks as required.

The ideal candidate will have the following:
  • Associates’ or Bachelor's degree in an analytical-oriented field, or three (3) years’ relevant work experience.
  • Three (3) years’ experience as an Analyst or Administrative Specialist in a Government setting.
  • Exceptional computer proficiency, with experience conducting research in a variety of computer systems and publicly available information, e.g., internet searching
  • Skill in researching, analyzing, and interpreting data from multiple sources to provide concise, but detailed findings
  • Experience preparing, summarizing, and delivering written information to management officials.
  • Excellent typing skills, to assist in recording and summarizing information as quickly and accurately as possible.
  • Must be able to well under pressure, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience supporting law enforcement / intelligence agencies with a global presence is highly desired.
