Application Developer

Tygart is currently seeking a Web Application Developer to provide development, maintenance, and administration of web applications and services supportin a National Institute of Health (NIH) organization. The successful candidate will have experience developing web-based applications with an Oracle backend database. This position requires that the candidate pass a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) background investigation.

Responsibilities include:  
  • Migrate and enhance web-based data forms from ColdFusion, maintaining functionality, data connectivity, and application integration.
  • Develop new web forms, enhancements, new functionalities and reports, ensuring application consistency with required updates to the database schema as a result of new needs and capabilities. 
  • Provide application O&M services such as software security vulnerabilities and software defects
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment.
 
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or similar technical discipline
  • Five (5) years of work experience as an application developer supporting both Development, Modernization and Enhancement (DME) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) projects.
  • Development experience using the following languages: C++, C#, CSS, Go, HTML, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Python
  • Development experience using the following frameworks: Angular JS, Django, Microsoft.NET, React, Spring
  • Recent experience developing workflow applications using Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Knowledge of ColdFusion and/or ColdFusion migrations is desired.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent organizational skills.
